WOMEN DEVELOPMENT CELL
Introduction
A nation is considered contemporary and developed only when it has ensured its womenfolk their basic rights and taken adequate steps in the field of their upliftment. Recognizing the importance of women empowerment and gender equality, the women’s development cell of KLE Society’s Science & Commerce College, Kalamboli has taken manifold initiative to make their female students and staff safe ,confident as well as aware about their constitutional rights. The cell has organized various academic, cultural and social event in which both students and staff participate. Our institution celebrates International Women’s Day on 8thof March every year by screening documentaries, discussion by staff members and a Flash Mob on “Bringing awareness towards elimination of violence against women”. Guest lecture, seminars, skill enhancement workshops, movie screenings and Skit on“ MeriAwaazSuno -Time for Women to be heard” are organised regularly to address women issues.
The central theme of such programmes have always been to bring up gender sensitive issues, discuss grievances of women and make the campus zero tolerant against any women related crime.
Objectives
- To make the female students and staff aware about their economic, social & legal rights.
- To create awareness about health and hygiene among girl students.
- To organize various training and skill based programmes to make them financially independent.
- To create an environment that will help women realize their full potential and give their best.
