The ‘Sacred Bull’ is symbolic of Service The ‘Hexagon of Veerashaiva Dharma’ signifies the secular outlook of KLE with emphasis on the ‘Service of the Masses’. The ‘Ishtalinga’ on the ‘Palm and the ‘Halo’ around it is suggestive of knowledge to remove ignorance of the masses all around the universe, in pursuance of the Veerashaiva Philosophy. The KLE Society is committed to providing excellent educational services, embodying the spirit of the ‘Union of Truth, Love, Service and Sacrifice’.
Karnataka Lingayat Education (KLE) Society emphasizes on a sound mind and a healthy body for attaining educational and spiritual enlightenment, along with the motivation needed for a participative role in social transformation.
The planetary ‘Saptarishis’, aptly called the seven saints’, having the benign presence of seven eminent personalities namely, M.R.Sakhare ,S.S.Basavanal,B.S.Hanchinal, H.F.Kattimani, B.B.Mamadapur, P.R.Chikodi and V.V.Patil, were determined to serve the humanity notwithstanding any personal sacrifice for the betterment of the community through the means of education, the most essential requirement for a dignified human life and of course, a necessary constituent of life. Their cumulative commitment manifested in the form of the seed sown on 13 November, 1916 that gave rise to the first tree of the institution, in the form of an anglovernacular school. Thereafter the Institution grew rapidly and unstoppably, gaining strength on the way and diversifying into the spheres of Arts, Science, Commerce, Medicine, Engineering Dental, Pharmacy, Architecture, Law, Nursing, Ayurveda, Management, Information Technology and Computer Science. Undeniably, KLE group of Institutions caters to the student community right from K.G. to P.G. to Post Doctoral level. We fully follow the time tested Research Oriented approach.
Our educational institutions stretch right from the interiors of the rural areas to the mofussil towns and cities, providing ‘World Class Top Notch’ Infrastructural standards that are definitely State of the Art, dispensing High Quality Education with ample emphasis on sound all around character and personality development. The dynamic origin of KLE University Belagavi, established in 2006 and KLE Technical University Hubballi in 2013 have added another feather to the cap of KLE institutions. The icing on the cake of our institutions happens to be DR.PRABHAKAR KORE HOSPITAL & MEDICAL RESEARCH CENTRE BELGAUM, KARNATAKA with its impressive infrastructure of 2420 beds, catering to all the sections of the society especially the poor, underprivileged and the marginalized. No wonder that this hospital has been acknowledged as one of the best hospitals in the south of India.
The vibrant 100 years old KLE Society has been led at the front by our charismatic Chairman Dr. Prabhakar Kore, ably supported by members of the board of management. Our student fraternity happens to be well over 1.5 lakhs, who are ably guided and supported by more than fifteen thousand care takers, very much a part and parcel of our KLE PARIVAR comprising of 296 institutions. Our leadership stalwart and the honorary Chairman of the society, Dr. Prabhakar Kore has been conferred with Honorary Doctorate Degrees by the Karnataka University, Dharwad, Rani Chennamma University, Belagavi and very recently by Universiti sains Malaysia for outstanding contribution to society through medical education. Dr Kore is the second Indian to be honoured with this Distinction by Malaysia University after Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. Dr Kore’s unique endeavor in the field of education has also been recognized by the Karnataka Government by honoring with “Karnataka Rajyotsav Prashasti”, a renowned award given by the government in the field of education.
