The Research Cell and an Extension Services Committee

About:

A Research Cell is a dedicated unit within an organization, often a college or university, focused on promoting and supporting research activities. The cell facilitates research projects, encourages collaborations, and aims to enhance the overall research output of the institution.

Aims & Objectives:

1. To Facilitate Research Projects.
2. To organize workshops, seminars, and training programs to enhance the research skills of faculty and students.
3. To ensure Ethical Review and Compliance.
4. To provide Publication Support.
5. To Provide excellent Research Infrastructure.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Promoting Research Culture:
   Research cells work to create a positive and active research environment within the organization, encouraging both faculty and students to participate in research.
2. Facilitating Research Projects:
   They may provide resources, guidance, and support for researchers to initiate and conduct their projects, including help with grant applications, data collection, and analysis.
3. Organizing Research Activities:
   Research cells often organize workshops, seminars, conferences, and other events to disseminate research findings, share knowledge, and foster collaboration.
4. Encouraging Collaboration:
   They may facilitate partnerships between researchers within the organization and with external institutions or organizations, fostering interdisciplinary research.
5. Disseminating Research Output:
   Research cells may also be involved in publishing research findings in journals, conference proceedings, or other forms of media, making them accessible to a wider audience.
6. Tracking Research Activities:
   Some research cells maintain records of research publications and projects undertaken by faculty and students.

Periodicity of the Meeting

The Committee will meet twice in a semester in Aug/Sept and October/November in odd Semester. January/February and April/May in even semester and whenever required.

1. “Shodh” – Conference at inter – collegiate student level in the year 2023-24.
2. Host for “Aavishkar  – 2024” at Raigad district in the year 2024 – 2025 with an outcome of two Zonal round winners.
3. Participated in “Aavishkar  – 2025” with an outcome of two Zonal round winners.
4. Two Micro Research Projects sanctioned by University of Mumbai in the year 2025 – 26.
   1. Title of the Project: “Cultural Continuity and Academic Exploration: Preservation and Innovation in Shri Ganesh Utsav”
      1. Amount Sanctioned: 25,000/-
   2. Title of the Project: “An Analytical Study on Shri Ganesh Utsav and its Contemporary Practices”

• Establishment & Goals: Defines the structure of the R&D cell, aiming to enhance research output and foster innovation.
• Research Ethics and Integrity: Mandates adherence to ethical standards, requiring plagiarism checks and establishing Research Ethics Committees.
• Incentives and Support: Provides financial assistance, seed money, and duty leaves for presenting papers or attending conferences.
• Publication and Intellectual Property: Encourages publishing in Scopus/Web of Science journals and provides guidelines for filing patents or copyright protection.
• Collaborations: Facilitates linkages with industry, government, and other research organizations.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Requires submission of project reports to the cell, with faculty needing permission for external publication in some cases.
