ELECTORAL LITERACY CLUB

About Us:
The Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) is a platform established in educational institutions under the guidance of the Election Commission of India (ECI) through the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme. The primary objective of the club is to promote electoral awareness among students and to encourage informed, ethical, and active participation in the democratic process.
The Electoral Literacy Club aims to educate students about their electoral rights and responsibilities, the importance of voting, and the functioning of the electoral system in India. The club conducts various awareness activities, including seminars, workshops, debates, poster-making competitions, quiz contests, voter registration drives, and voter awareness campaigns to develop informed and responsible citizens.

Aims and Objectives:
The Electoral Literacy Club has the following aims and objectives:
- To create awareness among students about the importance of democracy and electoral participation.
- To educate students about the electoral process, voting rights, and the role of the Election Commission of India.
- To encourage eligible students to register as voters and participate actively in elections.
- To promote ethical and informed voting by discouraging electoral malpractices and emphasizing the value of free and fair elections.
- To organize voter awareness programmes, seminars, workshops, debates, quizzes, essay competitions, and outreach activities.
