About:
The SC/ST Cell, and Equal Opportunity Cell of KLE Society’s Science and Commerce College, Kalamboli, enthusiastically organized a guidance session on the topic “Constitution Provision for Social Empowerment: SC/ST/OBC” on 15th September 2025 in the college auditorium. The event was graced by Adv. Goraksha Lokhande, an eminent social leader and member of the Maharashtra State Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe Commission, as the guest speaker.
The program began with a briefing about the objectives of the session by Asst. Prof. Rajashree Bhorkade, Advisor of the Equal Opportunity Cell. Asst. Prof. Vidya Gosavi, Chairperson of the SC/ST Cell, introduced the guest speaker and also felicitated him.
The session commenced with the screening of a meticulously prepared 10–15-minute video, designed by the speaker himself, which highlighted key constitutional provisions for the empowerment of marginalized communities. This was followed by an interactive discussion, where Adv. Goraksha Lokhande shared his valuable knowledge, insights, and experiences with the students. He also presented two copies of government publications containing detailed information about the constitutional provisions and rights of SC/ST communities, making the session more resourceful.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Asst. Prof. Rajashree Bhorkade, expressing gratitude to the speaker, organizers, and participants for making the session meaningful and impactful. The event successfully enhanced students’ awareness about constitutional safeguards and inspired them to make informed use of opportunities for their academic and social growth.

Objectives of the activity:

- To encourage students to understand their rights and responsibilities as enshrined in the Constitution.
- To empower students with knowledge that can help them face social and professional challenges with confidence.
- To promote inclusivity and equality within the campus by sensitizing students towards social justice.
